Our roots are in Tarifa
Root Sunglasses is a Spanish brand born in Tarifa in 2013, between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. Since our first designs, nature, wood and the search for more sustainable materials have been part of the way we approach our products.
We started by creating wooden sunglasses with a personality of their own and, over time, our collections have evolved to incorporate new ways of combining natural and recycled materials with other materials selected for their design, lightness, durability or functionality.
Today, Root continues to grow, but the way we understand our brand remains the same: creating distinctive products with character that are connected to nature in one way or another.
Nature is part of our DNA
Wood has been part of Root from the very beginning and remains one of our most distinctive materials. In our collections of wooden sunglasses, it can take centre stage or be combined with other materials to create different finishes, shapes and features.
But our vision of Root goes beyond a single material. We aim to use natural, recycled or more sustainable materials whenever the characteristics and design of the product allow us to do so.
That is why our collections can combine wood, bamboo, metal and other materials, while also exploring new alternatives such as recycled PET.
Nature is not a collection. It is part of the way we make Root.
